Emerging growth company ☐ If an emerging growth company, indicate by check mark if the registrant has elected not to use the extended transition period for complying with any new or revised financial accounting standards provided pursuant to Section 13(a) of the Exchange Act. ☐ Item 8.01 Other Events On June 2, 2026, Jersey Central Power & Light Company (the “Registrant” or “JCP&L”) issued a news release announcing that it is extending the expiration date for its offer to exchange up to (i) $350 million aggregate principal amount of its outstanding 4.150% Senior Notes due 2029, (ii) $500 million aggregate principal amount of its outstanding 4.400% Senior Notes due 2031 and (iii) $500 million aggregate principal amount of its outstanding 5.150% Senior Notes due 2036 for a like principal amount of each of the Company’s (i) 4.150% Senior Notes due 2029, (ii) 4.400% Senior Notes due 2031 and (iii) 5.150% Senior Notes due 2036 registered under the Securities Act of 1933, as amended, from June 1, 2026 to June 15, 2026.
